Teaching children
Have you ever think about what work would you like to do in the future? If you have asked this question to me a few years ago I would have told you that I would like to be a professional hairdresser. But nowadays I do not really would like to be a hairdresser, in fact, I would like to teach English to young children.
First and foremost, I love being with children and take care of them, I have worked as a babysitter twice the last two summers and I have really enjoyed that work. So, as I love English and children, why not teaching English to the children? I am experienced at taking care of children and I am making progress to know a lot of English and become a good teacher.
Added to this, some strengths that I have and will be important for this job are the following. I am a very creative person and also positive, I also always learn from my mistakes. Those skills are very important in this job. Moreover, I am empathic with others' feelings, patient and friendly; those three skills are very important to make the children feel good and not give up when they do not understand something.
Lastly, some weaknesses that I should improve are the following. I am not good at time management and I sometimes leave assignments until the last minute, these are important things to improve because if I want to be a good teacher I have to be more constant and organized. I am also a little bit shy at first, and I usually get nervous when presenting myself in front of a group of people. For me, these last two things are important but not as the other ones, I consider that being shy at first is normal, and little by little I would try not to be shy anymore. All in all, as I see it, teaching children is fantastic and entertaining, I have some strengths that will help me to be a good teacher, but, despite this, I have also weaknesses to improve. In the end, it all depends on what I am willing to change, and I am willing to learn new skills and knowledge to be what I want to be.
