Pollution
Nowadays we all have heard something about climate change,
pollution, the ozone hole in the atmosphere, and so on. We see people in the
streets protesting, making noise, and claiming solutions. But do we know what
is happening? Are we really concerned with and committed to the protection of
the natural environment?
To start with, you could have thought 'If I recycle nothing
changes' or something like that, but that is not true. My friend always tells
me: 'Little changes start a bigger movement', and she is right, obviously
nothing changes if only one person does something, but we are millions of
persons trying to do something against pollution and climate change. Most of
the people I know recycle their rubbish and are concerned about what we are
doing to nature. Here you have some easy things that I usually do against
climate change and pollution:
Firstly, you should start recycling waste; it is not difficult to
do. The best way of doing it is having 3 different trash can, each one for each
type of trash, and, once these trash cans are full you must throw them in the
correct trash bin. Another thing that you can do is to pick up the rubbish you
see in the streets or in the parks, wherever. My friends and I always pick up
the rubbish we see when we go to the mountain or to the countryside. You just have
to catch a garbage bag before you left your house and use it when you need it.
Moreover, you should start using less your car and more public
transport, or simply go walking when you want to go somewhere near. The
exhaust fumes from all the vehicles are one of the main reasons for air
pollution. Also, you can buy some cloth bags and use them instead of buying
plastic bags each time you buy something. We need to ban all single-use
plastic; they are a big part of the pollution problem.
To conclude, everything that you do against pollution counts, with
little changes like recycling waste, picking up trash from the streets, using
the public transport, or using a cloth bag instead of a plastic bag, we are
participant in the movement against climate change and pollution.
